Abstract	Chapter 7 of a book on school law, this chapter deals with 1979 cases involving disputes over property. Cases involving taxpayer attempts to prevent the construction of school buildings dominate this year's property chapter, as they did last year's. Yet, paradoxically, there is also a significant increase in cases in which taxpayers tried to prevent schools from being closed (albeit these were, with one exception, unsuccessful). It is also worth noting that only one case involving citizen efforts to invalidate the results of a school bond referendum is reported this year. And in one unusual case, citizens forced a county board of commissioners to issue school bonds. Other cases reported deal with relatively routine school property matters such as detachment and attachment of land; construction contract disputes between school boards and architects, general contractors, subcontractors, and materialmen involving arbitration awards, breach of warranty, and recovery for materials and services; and disposition of property no longer used for educational purposes.
