| Abstract | The model described offers information about displaced homemakers that, while specific to Arizona, can provide a guide to persons in any state responsible for program planning. The report presents results of an Arizona Department of Education study which was conducted to: (1) identify the "displaced homemaker;" (2) define the need for services; (3) examine the divorce rate in the state and its impact on families; and (4) make recommendations for program planning. These recommendations are addressed to specific areas of need such as direct services to the displaced homemaker, statewide training of human services personnel, different approaches to meet the needs of different populations, and public and professional information. Also included is a reprint of the amendment to the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act which specifically deals with displaced homemakers. (BN) |
