Abstract | This background paper for a planning conference on instructional television (ITV) programming for the secondary school audience provides a list of more than 300 telecourses for secondary schools that have been, or are now, available for national, regional, statewide, or local ITV use. Information was gathered from general distribution catalogs as well as from state and local ITV viewing guides. The list is divided into categories of (1) generally distributed series, (2) local series, (3) other (production origin unknown), and (4) PBS series. Entries in each category are grouped and numbered in sequence according to subject area, such as art, foreign languages, music, mathematics, and miscellaneous. Description of each series includes the number of programs in the series, time length per program, distributor, producer, and recommended audience level. (CMV) |
