Abstract | This report summarizes the principal findings for the O.E.O. experiment in performance contracting. The report emphasizes major results and conclusions to date. It is divided into (1) description of the experiment, in which the goal is outlined; (2) description of the technology company programs, curriculum and materials, and overviews of personnel and the incentive systems; (3) description of the target population, which provides variables of socioeconomic status; (4) criteria employed for the selection of achievement tests used and a description of those selected; (5) design and procedures used to administer selected tests and a summary of conditions for both pre- and post-testing; (6) the data analysis method used for analyzing student achievement test data and the rationale for the analysis method employed; (7) results, conclusions, and associated qualifications concerning the impact of educational performance contracting on student achievement.
