Abstract | The purpose of this research is to determine the body mass content and somatotype of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" men's football team. The research included 18 individuals from the official university men's football team who have an average age of 22.7 years and an average of 13 years of football experience. The study was conducted in May 2012, at the end of the 2011/2012 sports competition year. With all study subjects we conducted anthropometric research which included the necessary anthropometric indicators to determine the body mass content. Each subject's somatotype, and the group's, was also determined using the Heat Carter method. Based on the conducted research the following conclusion can be made - the football players from Sofia University team have anthropometric characteristics and somatotype commensurate with published data on football players. A particular trait of our footballers is the significantly lower values of body fats and the endomorphic component of their somatotype. The anthropomorphic research and the determination of the body mass content is an inseparable part of the training process oversight and should be conducted systematically along with field and functional tests.
