Abstract	The age of globalization with its connection to the knowledge society depends on academic productivity so that almost all nation stages pay much more attention to such university activity by constructing their own higher education systems. Based on this context, this paper seeks to focus on the relation between globalization and higher education in through relations between knowledge, academic productivity, and higher education reforms. Main content is consisting of the following subtitles: globalization and higher education; functions of knowledge and concept of academic productivity; relation between knowledge and university; social conditions of higher education reforms; academic productivity in research and teaching; concluding remarks. Among some concluding remarks it is stressed that the nexus of knowledge functions, especially that of research, teaching, and learning has to be emphasized more in the emerging knowledge society 2.
