| Abstract | This paper was presented at the European Conference on "Social science information needs and provision in a changing Europe" in Berlin, 1994. At first the author describes new trends in social studies and the humanities which have developed rapidly in Russia in the 1990s. He highlights the importance of political studies reffering to the solution of today's topical tasks and in this context to the necessity of reflection of Russia's own history. The other new trend are cultural studies which are also to be seen as a part of the search for a way out of the political and spiritual crisis in Russia. Than the author characterizes the structural and technical changes, information activities and products of the Institute of Scientific Information in Social Science (INION). (DIPF/St.). |
