Abstract	"The European Community administers a number of schemes promoting the Europeanisation of science and technology, many of which have direct, though limited, impact on education." (...) "Tremendous variation still exists in the educational systems of the Member States of the European Union, and although the completion of the Single Market makes it possible for scientists and engineers to take up employment throughout the European Union, in practice national patterns predominate in labour markets throughout Europe. At the same time, intra-European student mobility is growing steadily, ' Europeanised' degree programmes are proliferating and international recruitment of scientists and engineers is on the increased."
