Abstract | In this article, the author shares the story of her life as a DREAM Act student who acted beyond the barriers. The DREAM Act, defined as the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act, is an effort to establish a path to citizenship for some children of illegal immigrants. Her story begins like the thousands of other students who are in her shoes. Her parents brought her into the United States when she was two years old with a tourist visa that expired years later.
