AbstractComputer Algebra Systems (CAS) are equipped with rich facilities to show graphics, so the use of CAS to show 3D-graphics on screen is a popular tool for mathematics education. However, showing 3D-graphics in mass printed materials is a different story, since the clarity and preciseness of figures tend to be lost. To fill this gap, we developed KETpic. KETpic is a macro package of CAS to insert high-quality figures into the documents edited by LATEX which is a tool for high-quality typesetting. This paper is aimed at proposing a new teaching method, the simultaneous use of 3D-figures in printed materials and on screen. This method fully utilizes the functions of KETpic, and it enables students to do empirical studies by using printed materials and intuitive studies by seeing screen at the same time. The results of our questionnaire survey indicate that many teachers have great potential needs for this method. (Contains 17 figures.) (As Provided).
