Abstract | Recommends that educational anthropologists publicly attack the ideological purposes to which the concept of culture has been deployed following the September 11 attacks, noting the importance of supporting schools, communities, and the media in addressing the power and politics of race and religion in contemporary social and political contexts. Recommends expanding knowledge of the processes of social incorporation for Muslim and Arab immigrant youth. (Contains references.) (SM) |
