Abstract | "Education Matters" is the monthly newsletter of the Association of American Educators (AAE), an organization dedicated to advancing the American teaching profession through personal growth, professional development, teacher advocacy and protection. This issue of the newsletter includes: (1) Who Me? Yes, You Can Use Technology to Individualize Instruction and Open New Horizons for Students (Jane Kinser); (2) Ironic Standards: College Readiness Standards Fall Short of Making Students Ready for College (Ze'ev Wurman and Sandra Stotsky); (3) Charter Schools and Student Access: One Study of 29 Countries Found That the Level of Competition Among Schools Was Directly Tied to Higher Test Scores in Reading and Math (Paul E.
