Abstract	A questionnaire answered by 2,758 members of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) sought to determine their behaviors in and attitudes toward employment and careers; leisure time activities; marriage, parenthood, and homemaking; and volunteer and community activities. The survey group women as a whole mostly have baccalaureate degrees but have more master's and doctoral degrees than the general U.S. women college graduate population. The typical AAUW respondent was employed full-time but still spent a great deal of time in homemaking and some time in pursuing education, doing volunteer work, and engaging in leisure time activities. She is likely to be a school teacher or in an occupation that utilizes her education achievements in contrast to many women nationally. Eighty percent of the respondents spent up to 20 hours per week in leisure time activities. The typical AAUW respondent is satisfied with marriage and finds her gratifications in the personal relations in her homemaking or in being able to be her own boss and do things on her own. The typical AAUW respondent spends more time in volunteer and community activities than the average American woman, especially if she is over 35 years of age. A sample questionnaire is included. (SW)
