Abstract | This publication comprises contributions and lectures held in the course of the regional seminar as follows: "After a keynote address giving a sociological overview of the historical role of formal education systems with regard to inequality and social cohesion, country presentations were made on the educational situation in Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Sweden, particularly from the point of view of social integration. This was followed by case studies on Argentina and Northern Ireland (United Kingdom) giving an international perspective. Three working groups were then set up on educational exclusion, cultural diversity and citizenship, and skills development and employment". (DIPF/Orig.). |
