Abstract | Creating a fertile space for debate and ideas in order to drive innovation in learning and skills is integral to LSN's (Learning and Skills Network's) mission. To achieve this LSN has pioneered a new approach to making learning work from classroom to boardroom--and created the Centre for Innovation in Learning. This new, independent think tank works with stakeholders, key thinkers, social entrepreneurs and practitioners to improve policy and practice. The Centre for Innovation in Learning is supported by a Foresight Group of politicians, business people, academics and sector professionals who take part in their private capacity and meet twice a year in a roundtable forum. This position paper reflects their deliberations on the big issues and challenges facing learning and skills in 2010 and beyond. It seeks to present a case, based on the varied perspectives of this group, for where learning and skills thinking and policy need to go next. (Contains 7 footnotes.) (ERIC). |
