| Abstract | This document contains a series of materials that were developed to help adult educators involve all stakeholders (adult learners, funders, administrators, legislators) in assessing internal and external cultures (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) of an adult education organization (AEO) and then using the information gained to plan strategically for adult education. Included in the document are handouts and worksheets with activities on the following topics: understanding and developing strategic plans; profiling an AEO from the standpoint of its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats; identifying organizational values for an AEO; developing a mission statement; formulating a vision statement; selecting an action strategy; and translating values, missions, and visions into actions.
