AbstractThis collective bargaining agreement between the Maine Vocational Technical Institute System Board of Trustees and the Maine Teachers Association establishes rights of management and the association for the period 1989-1991. The 26 Articles in this agreement cover the following areas: (1) recognition of bargaining agents; (2) union security; (3) grievance procedure; (4) paid leaves of absence; (5) unpaid leaves of absence; (6) rights of the faculty association; (7) management rights; (8) probation; (9) evaluation; (10) discipline; (11) resignation; (12) personal and academic freedom; (13) work year; (14) benefits; (15) salary; (16) posting of vacancies; (17) seniority; (18) reduction in force and recall; (19) transfers; (20) class size and teaching load; (21) miscellaneous stipulations (includes no strike or lockout, no discrimination, and severability clauses); (22) personnel files; (23) safety requirements; (24) labor/management committees; (25) workers'compensation; and (26) duration. Salary schedules for the separate periods 1989-90 and 1990-91, schedule criteria, stipend compensation formula, a grievance form, evaluation criteria/procedure, and day schedule by current campus practice are appended.
