| Abstract | Following introductory material, four monographs on collective bargaining are presented. The first, the strategy and tactics of collective bargaining, offers valuable suggestions as to how negotiations should be conducted and concludes on a positive note arguing that no clear dichotomy exists between faculty and administrator power. The second monograph deals with the impact of faculty unionism on tenure by analyzing the causes of faculty unionism, discussing the problems that tenure systems create, and finally determining whether or not tenure matters will be negotiable. The third monograph discusses the changing relationship between college presidents and Boards of Trustees; collective bargaining was mentioned as one of the possible factors having influence on the relationship. The fourth monograph examines and analyzes the state public employment statutes with recommendations for statutory treatment of institutions of higher education. (MJM) |
