Abstract | This document consists of the speeches given at the 1972 New Jersey School Law Forum. The Forum is held to encourage the research of timely legal issues involving the structure and operation of the New Jersey public schools, to assist the school law practitioner by affording him the opportunity to hear and discuss research and opinion on selected topics, and to provide a vehicle for the preservation and dissemination of school law research. The subjects presented in the speeches are (1) the 1871 Civil Rights Act and its effect on board member liability; (2) the emancipation of 18-year-olds and its effect on the doctrine of "in loco parentis"; (3) sex discrimination in school employment practices; (4) non-tenured teacher dismissal; (5) drafting a management grievance clause; (6) proper evidence and tactics in processing a grievance; (7) arbitrability and the restraint of arbitration; and (8) sex equality in student athletic activities. A related document is ED 063 667. (JF) |
