Abstract | The major variables examined in this study were "teachers' perception which is believed to be one of the contributing factors to the inequality between boy and girl learners, and teacher - student interaction which is presumed to be affected by the teachers' perception. Data were collected through non-participant classroom observations, focus group discussions with girl students, and interviews with teachers. The results showed that the teachers' perceptions of girl students are generally positive. No differences were found between men and women teachers. The girl students also backed up their teachers' responses, saying that their teachers do not discriminate against them in any way." (DIPF/orig.). |
