Abstract | For many high school students as well as preservice teachers, geometry can be difficult to learn without experiences that allow them to build their own understanding. The authors' approach to geometry instruction--with its integration of content, multiple representations, real-world examples, reading and writing, communication and collaboration as well as technology--is a way in which students can develop their own understanding of geometric ideas. They hope that this model will promote additional discourse on geometry instruction. (Contains 6 figures.) (ERIC). |
