Abstract | This article presents an overview of the creation and consolidation of an undergraduate certificate in Spanish translation offered at the University of Texas at Arlington. The certificate is a 15 credit-hour program oriented towards community translation and service-learning. It also offers a curricular model that could be beneficial for other institutions to implement. The article describes the impact that incorporating service-learning and community translation has for translation students seeking to develop their professional experience before graduation. Furthermore, it explores and emphasizes the relevance and impact that service-learning and community translation have on translation students and community members alike. (As Provided). |
