| Abstract | The education of all coaches is an important issue regardless of the level. However, it is assumed that coaches at the college level have significant advantages over coaches at other levels. This study investigated that assumption in determining the educational demographics of coaches in a college Division I conference in the western United States. The findings are discussed in reference to practices of college coaches, the barriers in coach education at all levels, and the effects of the growth of sport participation in the private sector.
