Abstract | This guide presents advice on how to choose a videotape and then adapt it to a variety of language learning situations and curriculum needs. It outlines strategies that will help to create a successful learning experience by providing a wide range of suggested activities to develop listening, speaking, and writing skills. Advice on how to use a camcorder effectively as a pedagogical tool is also included. The guide is divided into four chapters with the following titles: "Using Video to Develop Listening Skills"; "Developing Oral Skills"; "Developing Written Skills"; and "Making Your Own Video." Three appendices are also included: a satellite channel list, Web site addresses, and sources of video material. (KFT) |
