Abstract	Designed to be of value to both occupational curriculum personnel and those persons concerned with noncurriculum issues of occupational description and updating of job content information, this volume is the fourth of a five-volume set describing a systematic approach for constructing task inventories, surveying the task performance of occupations, and analyzing survey data to determine the appropriate performance content for job training. Expanding upon the volume 3 (CE 013 195) procedures for conducting an occupational survey of task performance, this companion volume adds additional elements to produce an information base for use in making certain decisions about curriculum content. Procedures are focused on pre-employment preparation, serving to prepare an individual for employment in a particular occupation. In addition to supplementing volume 3, this volume is also designed for use by curriculum developers in deriving or verifying the appropriate task content of training programs. Descriptions of four activities (presented in separate sections) are included: planning survey design and analysis, processing survey data, stating the terminal performance objectives (TPOs), and considering the possible uses of TPOs. Possible task-training questions, an employer expectation questionnaire, and an example of a summary of training need for 150 tasks relevant to general secretaries are appended. (SH)
