| Abstract | The international exchange of technical information is discussed in relation to U.S. information policy since World War II. Facets of military needs and policies and the involvement of interested agencies (Department of State, Library of Congress, National Science Foundation, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Atomic Energy Commission, Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, etc.) are described. The freedom of information concept is covered, as are the evolution of international cooperative information exchange and the technical information needs of developing nations. There are extensive references and a list of acronyms. (LS) |
