| Abstract | Pending and completed litigation (through 1972) regarding the education of handicapped children is summarized on the basis of statements from attorneys, organizations, and plaintiffs involved in the cases. Twenty-one cases specifically concern the right to education, six cases deal with the right to treatment, and six cases concern placement of handicapped children. The history of the court action, the demands of the plaintiff, and the court opinion (when available) are indicated for each case. It is noted that additional information may be obtained from the State-Federal Information Clearinghouse for Exceptional Children of the Council for Exceptional Children. (GW) |
