| Abstract | Class-room singing has become increasingly problematic, because in spite of various empirical studies, music pedagogy has as yet not been able to gather exact information on actual interests and tendencies in vocal reproduction and apperception, namely on the songs which are actually sung, which are popular and how they get to be known, on the changes of singing and listening habits and on the amount of youthful singing activities and its social background. Therefore the author is at the present undertaking a long-range research project in this field, out of which hereby some data are given concerning especially the influence of mass-media on the singing of pupils.
