One of the crucial aims of the Bologna process is the establishment and perpetuation of quality assurance within the European higher education institutions. In Bavaria, the university of Bayreuth aspired to a leading position in the implementation of the Bologna process, and especially in the improvement of study quality. First, the article analyses the Bologna-process's ideas and terminology of quality assurance. The main part provides a survey of the Bayreuth university's agenda and measures to ensure quality. In this context, accreditation is an important topic. In appreciation of this fact, the university of Bayreuth took part in a nationwide pilot project. (HoF/text adopted). |
