Abstract	The reason why special attention is paid to adult education in Central Asian countries and in Kazakhstan is not only the participation of Central Asian countries in conventions, decisions and many other international agreements concerning adult education, but also the difficulty in adapting adult to new social and economic conditions; the decrease in adult employment; the rise in unemployment, the lowering of the income level per capita, deskilling or lack of the required skills, and the danger of non-accessibility of education for children whose parents are socially and economically disadvantaged. ... The articles collected will give an outline of the project [to assist adult training, particularly for the disadvantaged sections of the population], the experience gained, the goals achieved, and what is to be done in future.
