AbstractEvery school activity implies the information exchange, that means processes and communicational relationships, in which the teacher and the students use some didactical procedures aimed at facilitating the knowledge acquisition and understanding, at clarifying decisions or coordinating actions. It is about techniques of action which sustain the practical application of a method, in specific conditions and situations. In this paper we approached such a technique - the explication - which is used no matter what kind of teaching-learning strategy is applied in classroom. Although this problematic implies a more extensive approach comparing to this one, we will focus here only on some conceptual clarifications and then on the role of the explication in the instructional process. We intended to structure the whole content so that the theoretical points and also the illustrative examples could be easy to apply in the instructional practice, and in the same time to become starting points for interrogations, reflections, analyses and personal constructions for the reader.
