| Abstract | This paper describes a model for curriculum development that starts with the formulation of the academic-professional profile which is contrasted with the academic requirements that the university structure has programmed for its fulfillment. Profile formulation presupposes: a. determination of the occupational profile (response to demands); b. determination of the personality profile (attitudinal competencies as personality conditions and dispositions leading to successful professional performance); d. determination of the prospective profile (criteria to attain a profile having stability over time thus overcoming obsolescence in the short run). The following phase is the formulation of the curricular net of the study plan which will require the matrix ordering of competencies (currículum blocks and directing lines across blocks). The next step is the elaboration of study programs of curricular units (courses) including: setting up terminal objectives; selection of the methodological strategy; selection of means; selection of criteria, techniques and procedures for evaluation. In the final part of the paper the authors present a possible system to carry out the revisions needed to evaluate the validity of competencies in the professional profile. (DIPF/Orig.). |
