Abstract	The purpose of the presentation addresses the question; what are the consequences of ecclesiastical modernisation and reorganisation for social relation and political culture? Historically, the Roman-Catholic Church in Poland was generally accepted by all groups as a stable and creative power constituing the national culture and public life varying between those working on the one hand and high school and university students on the other, as well as between rural and urban dwellers. Therefore, we can outline a lot of general trends in the special role of the Polish Church and its conceptualising religion, culture and politics. The essay should find an answer to whether in the new relations (after event in 1989) a model of religion in Poland gives a societal support for social relation and national (also political) culture. What is the religious adaptation to the new state formation? What kind of pastoral mobilisation has any influence on one's identity with the traditional culture among new economic relations in Post- Communist society? Parallels of the experience of the Catholic Church is considered in comparative perspective to the third Republic since 1989, can be found in this paper. (DIPF/orig.).
