Abstract	The paper deals with EURODELPHI, a transnational project involving 14 European states which was finished in 1995. The project addressed to experts from four different "actor categories" in the field of adult education: research, practice, politics and journalism. Its main aim was to identify and evaluate the educational needs of adults, adequacy of provision, aspects of state involvement and of "Europeanisation" in adult education. Based on a similar study carried out in Belgium in 1992, the findings of EURODELPHI were ultimately directed at supporting - and giving profile to - the development of a concerted European policy of continuing education. First the goals, the methodological basis and the research design are described. The second part concentrates on the presentation of the experiences and the results of the project, both on a programmatic and an implementary level. Finally the author discusses in how far EURODELPHI can be seen as an example or tentative model of European adult education research. (DIPF/Abstract übernommen)
