Abstract | "This dissertation analyzes how employment protection legislation (EPL) and technological change affect the labor market. EPL is a main institutional feature of the labor market. Typically, it is meant to provide job security to workers by restricting firms possibility to layoff workers. Technological change is widely recognized as key contributor to economic growth including the growth of real wages.
