Abstract	By the year 2012, students of color will make up 25 percent of the under-eighteen population in the United States.... (The book) provides a comprehensive assessment of how well our educational system - from kindergarten through college - serves disadvantaged minority students, and it offers a wealth of ideas for strenghtening the entire educational pipeline.... The book presents a holistic, highly coordinated, systemwide approach to improving the education of minority students. The authors advocate not only for change within the school, but also for building partnership between schools and postsecondary institutions as well as alliances with community organizations.
