| Abstract | During recent decades, the Swedish child welfare system has been subjected to an elevated public debate, and some of its core features have been criticised and called into question. Much of the criticism is related to the most far-reaching intervention in the system; the out-of-home care and the professional work and decisions that surround it. In this article, we examine this criticism, how it has been institutionally managed, and raise the question of whether there is reason to speak about a current crisis. |
