(DIPF/Orig.). Since ten years school inspections are conducted in Germany, but the questions remain, which specific school-internal processing is initialized and how it leads to school development. There are scarcely studies about the impact of school inspection on the relationship between principals and teachers as well as about their resulting actions for school development. The intention of this paper is, by using empirical results of qualitative interviews and theoretical conceptions of organizational learning, to carve out processes of interaction on schools, dealing with school inspection. As a theoretical concept for organizational learning the capacities of organizational learning are introduced, with an emphasis on the capacities which focus on the relationship between principals and teachers.
