This article asks for the core of social workers, performance, under the condition that the demand for client participation is accompanied by the attitude that the clients themselves are experts of their lives, capable of solving their problems on their own. Based on central impulses from social work research and on a discussion of social theory, the author describes from a systemic perspective how professional competence and lifeworld expertise can be combined reasonably in social work practice. |
