(Autorenreferat, IAB-Doku). Whether in a cultural, private, economic, or official context, the social media are becoming increasingly important. This development also affects libraries. Those responsible must decide whether they want to shape this development or they will be shaped by the development. This results in a new culture of participation, where everyone by means of social software can co-design the development of the Internet in principle. Thus, information institutions like libraries are encouraged to find appropriate solutions for this challenge. In order to achieve this, LIS study programs have to tackle the problems in all its manifestations. In addition to subject-specific content of the information and communication technological aspect business coherencies are becoming increasingly important. But the social, cultural, political, and economic implications should be taken into account into teaching. In a complex, chaotic, and crisis- marked period like ours, to see the bigger picture is part of our daily business. In the following contributions a synopsis is coming up that demonstrates the potential of the diversified spectrum of social media. The focus will be on theoretical considerations and especially on practical examples. (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku). |
