Abstract	The aim of this research is the state of physical ability of 11-13-year-old children with intellectual disability at the beginning of their training in football to be determined. The subject of the study covers the initial training in the football of the children with intellectual disability. Object of the study is the basic signs of the physical ability of the boys with intellectual disability. The contingent of the study is 44 boys with intellectual disability at the age between 11 and 13 years, entered into preparatory groups in football in the town of Veliko Tarnovo. The children are divided in two equal groups: experimental and control. In the time of the experimental period the boys from the first group are put to the influence of ours own methods for initial training in the football, which is conformable to such children. For accomplishing the objective and the tasks of the study, the following methods of research are applied: historical study, sport-pedagogical testing. For the needs of the study the following mathematic-statistic methods are applied: variation analysis and comparative analysis (by t-criterion of the Student). Our research displays that at the beginning of this experiment the level of physical ability of the two groups are identical. It is a guarantee of correctness from the start of the research.
