Abstract	Die Autoren untersuchen in ihrem Beitrag an einer studentischen Stichprobe, inwiefern Persönlichkeitsvariablen und kognitive Variablen Prädiktoren für den Erfolg von Lernenden in inzidentellen Lernsituationen sind. (DIPF/Orig.). Incidental learning processes play an important role in the acquisition of knowledge as they allow learners to take up information using few resources. Therefore, knowledge on personal features that favour incidental learning can be important to facilitate learning progress. In this article, the authors investigate the importance of conscientiousness and speed of information processing for the capability to learn incidentally in a sample of N = 78 students. As a result, both variables significantly predicted measures of performance in incidental learning. Consequently, the authors propose that a wider use of training programs which help to ameliorate processing speed and a conscientious way of learning should be considered to promote learning progress in students, but also in learners of all other age groups.
