Abstract	Owing to a sustained economic activity in the recent years the environment has suffered from the increasing rate of [pollution]. In addition to this there is a lack of education concerning the protection of the environment. Consequently [the paper] tries to promote education for the environment with pupils suffering from [severe] mental deficiencies [through] integrated and complex educational therapy. Through these activities that have been suggested as part of [a] programme aiming at promoting the education for the environment [the authors] wish to make pupils [conscious] of the importance of the environment as well as to give reasons for keeping it clean and taking care of it. All this will increase the quality of their health and life on the whole. (Orig.).
