| Abstract | The aim of the study was to establish the psychometric characteristics of the test "Tactical tasks for decision-making in situations of different numerical status of the team (superiority, equality, or inferiority) in handball". The test consists of 9 tasks - one measuring decision making in individual tactical situations; three measuring decision making in group tactical situation; five tasks measuring decision making in team tactical situation. 137 young handball players - 58 males (5 teams) and 79 females (6 teams), aged 12-14, have been tested. The performance was measured as ranking as well as the number of scored and received goals. The theoretical factorial structure of the test was confirmed. The scales of the test have adequate internal consistency. Females scored higher than males on the Group tasks scale and thus on the test as a whole. The test differentiates the teams-medalists from teams that rank 4th-8th places. The calculation of the goals per minute of the game play combined with the application of the decision-making test gave us an opportunity to register close relationships between decision-making characteristics and handball game effectiveness in young handball players. The results show that decision-making has stronger influence on the play in defense (that wins matches and decides the final ranking in this age). Verf.-Referat. |
