Abstract	CROSSNET was an EU project to support and study reform in science education and teacher development. The coordinators built up a working relationship among eleven innovative projects in seven partner countries. CROSSNET was organised as an intervention into the practice of these national projects, encouraging individuals and groups to meet and exchange knowledge and experiences in the context of exploring the role of communities, collaboration and systematic relationships in professional development. The project coordinators introduced "boundary crossing" as a common conceptual framework for partners from different countries and educational systems. (DIPF/Orig.).
