Collection with references to electronically available research documents from specialized and institutional repositories worldwide. By re-usage of a filtering procedure developed by the State and University Library Bremen, references to Open Access publications (ca. 650.000 refernces; as of May 2024) mapped by relevant keywords are provided, or via Dewey classification if such an allocation exists. Given the heterogeneous quality of metadata, the collection must be actively selected.
BBF 1945-1993 - References from the Research Library for the History of Education
The excerpt from the catalogue of the BBF | Research Library for the History of Education at DIPF in Berlin offers references to different areas of education, first of all literature from the Pedagogical Central Library of the GDR. The catalogue contains nearly 200,000 references to monographs and in some cases journal articles and contributions to collective works. Most of the references relate to German language publications. Titles that were issued after 1993 have been incorporated into the German Education Index.
Casalini libri – Monographs from Italy, France and Spain
As of the publication year 2013. Monthly data entries are based on a DDC content profile, comprising all areas that are relevant for education. German translations of keywords were deduced from DDC notations, to support German language searches. Around 9,000 references (as of May 2024) are delivered each year. New publications are added each month.
EBSCOhost - ebooks small, international publishing houses
The package comprises ca. 3,000 (book) titles (as of May 2024) , mostly in English – based on the BISAC Subject Classification "Education" for all sub disciplines in education science, including higher education research. The profile is updated once a week beginning with the year of publication 2013. Users need to register for this service.
ERIC (Institute of Education Science) – Journal articles, research and conference reports from English speaking countries
ERIC is the most comprehensive index of references in the field of education and educational research worldwide, containing nearly 2 million references (as of May 2024). Since 1966, ERIC has referenced mostly English language titles (books, journal articles, research and conference reports etc. in all areas of pedagogy. When possible, references contain information about an electronic version of the publication or a source where it can be obtained. The index is updated monthly or bi-monthly to expand the database.
German Education Index – Referencing for the German language area
The German Education Index offers references regarding all areas of education - it contains 1.104.182 entries (as of 30.10.2024). The database references monographs, contributions to collective works and journal articles published after 1980. The German Education Index is updated every three months. A Many of the entries concern German language publications.
Library of Congress – English language monographs
As of publication year 2013. The selection is based on an LCC-based content profile, comprising all areas that are relevant to education. German keyword translations were added to support German language search queries. Annually, ca. 24,000 references (as of May 2024) are delivered and the corpus is updated on a monthly basis.
Online Contents specialised collection excerpts (OLC-SSG)
The relevant excerpts for educational research and higher education from the database Online Contents refer to articles from the most relevant journals in the discipline. Systematically, the years 1993 to 2013 are covered, followed by unsystematic indexing until 2018. The database holds about 170,000 references (as of May 2024).
