| Abstract | The first section of the document consists of a questionnaire/survey instrument completed by 80 teachers as part of a study designed to evaluate the quality and efficiency of early education programs serving handicapped children (ages 3-5) in Louisiana during 1985-86. Frequency distribution of responses are shown in the instrument. The second section is a narrative developed from interviews during on-site visits to center-based and home-based programs. Qualitative data are reported on such topics as teacher training and certification, experience, and staff role. Descriptions of daily routines observed in center-based programs are also provided, including language-reasoning experiences, creative activities (music and movement, free or dramatic play), and personal care.
