Abstract | Data from the "Graduate Programs and Admissions Manual, 2nd Edition" published by the Graduate Record Examination Board and the Council of Graduate Schools in September 1973 are presented in tabular form to summarize information about graduate programs offered in all higher education institutions in the United States. This summary is based on data collected through questionnaire responses from all U.S. institutions awarding Master's degrees or higher. A separate summary is tabulated for 79 graduate programs and for 10 traditional groups into which the 79 programs were divided. For each program, responses are summarized for all institutions (classified by size) listed as offering that program and are also presented in categories based on number of degrees awarded, and program size including number of faculty, number of students, and number of financial aid awards.
