Abstract	In this study, efforts have been made to investigate the compatibility of specialized bilingual English-Persian dictionaries with fundamental lexicography criteria. For its theoretical framework, this study adopted the eighteen criteria which govern these dictionaries and which were developed by Nielsen (1994), Bergenholtz and Tarp (1995), and Fuertes-Olivera and Arribas-Bano (2008, 2009). The data were collected out of nine English-Persian dictionaries in different subject fields. In order to collect the data, entries under the combination of letters sa and se and their Persian equivalents were studied. Then, the data were analyzed according to the eighteen criteria set for these dictionaries developed to this end by the above-named scholars. The analysis of the data indicated that among the sample dictionaries, three dictionaries could be considered as the best thanks to their greatest degree of compliance with dictionary compilation standards.
