Abstract	[The book] describes new theoretical approaches, discusses their implementation into practice, and reports on evaluation studies. The volume's contributions draw a picture of current advances in research and practical work and their interplay. [...] The book consists of four thematically delineated parts. With its focus on the systemic theory of giftedness, Part One explores a relatively new theoretical approach to giftedness research and gifted education. [...] [The first chapter] takes a closer look at one specific systemic theory, Ziegler's actiotope model of giftedness. The actiotope model lays the groundwork for the following Chapters in Part One. [...] Part Two focuses on development aspects of giftedness and early fostering. [...] The two chapters which make up Part Three shed light upon students' characteristics.
